When Moatable initially approached MOTIFE with the concept of building a tech lab in Krakow, the idea was still in its early stages. Initial discussions with MOTIFE helped bring clarity to the plan. A strategy was crafted to bring the vision to life.
MOTIFE provided Moatable with their know-how and practical support in setting up a legal entity, hands-on involvement in office space research, and HR and recruitment advisory.
By October 2023, MOTIFE had established a Polish subsidiary, setting the groundwork for the project. They also arranged the operations and found a suitable office space in Krakow. Recruitment started quickly, and the first team members were hired soon after. In March 2024, the Polish subsidiary was officially transferred to Moatable, and shortly after, the company settled into its new office in the modern Fabryczna Flex complex.
The first team members joined in November 2023, initially being hired by MOTIFE, using EOR (Employer of Record), to be later transferred to Moatable. Today, the Krakow tech lab is independently managed by Moatable and has grown to over 60 team members, with more growth on the horizon.
This successful establishment of the Krakow hub brought significant benefits to Moatable. Partnering with a local expert like MOTIFE allowed Moatable to navigate the complexities of setting up in a new country with confidence. The decision to offshore to Krakow proved advantageous, as the city offered a strong talent pool, enabling Moatable to scale operations rapidly while maintaining high standards.

As Moatable's client base in Europe expanded, the company identified the need to establish a subsidiary in the region to better serve local clients.

After careful consideration, Moatable chose Poland, specifically Krakow, as the location for their new tech lab due to its robust talent pool, central location within Europe, and excellent connectivity. However, the decision brought with it significant administrative and organizational challenges.
Moatable faced the urgent task of setting up a legal entity and establishing operations in Poland, all while recruiting and hiring the first team members for the new Polish hub. Additionally, finding a suitable office space in Krakow added to the complexity of the project. To overcome these hurdles, Moatable sought a partner with deep knowledge of the local IT ecosystem and experience in setting up tech labs in Poland.
Moatable decided to collaborate with MOTIFE, leveraging their expertise for a full-scope soft-landing solution that included entity formation, operational setup, office space acquisition, and recruitment.
