With an ambitious vision to establish a presence in Krakow, Poland by building a team of 50 people within just 12 months, ActiveCampaign knew that local expertise would be substantial.

The HR and Recruitment team, based in the US, recognized the importance of understanding the nuances of the Polish IT market and sought out a partner who could provide both strategic guidance and hands-on support. This led them to MOTIFE.

ActiveCampaign’s immediate need was to assemble the first two scrum teams in Poland, a critical step in laying the foundation for their new Krakow office. However, the collaboration with MOTIFE extended far beyond recruitment alone. MOTIFE’s good understanding of the Polish labor market and IT ecosystem became a cornerstone of the project, offering insights that informed ActiveCampaign's decisions. MOTIFE’s experienced recruitment team provided insights and data such as salary benchmarks, and Polish IT specialists’ expectations in terms of work model and beyond salary benefits. These helped ActiveCampaign build an attractive Employee Value Proposition that accelerated the talent acquisition process.

MOTIFE took the lead in recruiting key members of the new team, successfully identifying and attracting top talent for roles such as Engineering Manager, Senior and Mid-level PHP/React Developers, Database Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers in Test, among others. The tailored approach ensured that ActiveCampaign could quickly onboard high-quality IT and product specialists, meeting the timeline they had set for launching their Krakow office.

The challenge of fast hiring IT and product specialists for the Krakow hub

ActiveCampaign' s rapid growth created an urgent need to expand its IT and product teams in the EMEA region.

Recognizing the importance of enhancing their service to European customers and solidifying their market leadership, they began exploring potential locations for this expansion. Krakow quickly emerged as an ideal choice, thanks to its abundant technical expertise and talent pool, which aligned perfectly with ActiveCampaign’s goal of elevating their platform to meet the evolving needs of businesses in Europe and worldwide.

With their new subsidiary established in Krakow, ActiveCampaign faced the challenge of quickly building a local team. Their ambitious target was to recruit 50 IT and product specialists within 12 months. Aware of the complexities of entering a new market, they understood the need for a local partner with deep knowledge of the regional IT landscape.

This partner would be substantial in providing comprehensive recruitment services and the necessary expertise to navigate the unique challenges of the local market.

StoneX is a US-based financial and trading services provider.

To strengthen its engineering function StoneX chose to open a Research and Development centre in Krakow.

MOTIFE kicked off the First Advantage Poland project back in May 2022– providing a comprehensive soft-landing solution including hub and operations setup, recruitment, and operations management.

The plan was solid, and soon after starting, the Polish branch was up and running. Within a few months employees began working at the Krakow office, with MOTIFE managing various functions such as HR, Finance, Admin, and IT.

Soon, the team comprised of 60+ full-time software engineers and multilingual customer support specialists.
